How Does a Sewer Line Camera Work?
A sewer camera is a very small and flexible camera that is attached to a cable. The camera is used to investigate the point where a clog or break may exist in hopes of remedying the problem with as little invasive behaviour as possible. The camera is flexible so it can twist and turn through the pipe.
The camera means you do not need to dig up your yard to get to the root of the problem. In the past, drainage contractors had to dig around, quite literally, to find the root of the problem.
While inserting the camera, we watch the footage in real time, which allows us to make a diagnosis almost immediately. You won’t have to wait days or weeks for someone to examine the footage and get back to you with an estimate. You can even ask for the footage.
Hydro Jetting
Hydro jetting is typically used for more heavily clogged sewer lines. Hydro jetting is the process of using a heavy-duty flexible hose with a specially designed nozzle on the end that uses pressurized water to dislodge and push out obstructions in the sewer line. Usually, the materials that cause these blockages and result in sewer jetting are fats, oils, grease, minerals, mud, dirt, and tree roots.
This method of clearing clogs and debris is an easy, safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly way for us to break through those more stubborn blockages. Hydro jets can also be known as sewer jets. The system runs with a motorized pump that pushes the water through the hose and into the specialized jet head. The jet head can operate both forward and reverse. Typically, this method is used once the underground camera verifies that it is a blockage and not a collapsed pipe that is causing your woes.
